Eco Inhibitors was established in 2011 based on research work within the area of hydrate inhibition chemicals started in 2008 by Professor Malcolm Kelland. Since then the company has gradually been developed based on significant support from the industry and from public funding schemes. In 2012 the external investor Wellwork Innovation came onboard playing an important role in the further growth of the company. Eco Inhibitors has access to, and utilises, state of the art laboratory equipment for development and testing of the various products.

Kjartan holds a MSc in Chemical Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and has several years of experience from a range of operational and managerial positions at Roxar. From 2008 until 2014 he was CEO of Inwind AS, an offshore windpower installation and maintenance contractor.
Malcolm Andrew Kelland
Malcolm studied chemistry at Oxford University from 1983 to 1990 and was awarded a DPhil in Organometallic chemistry. From 1991 to 2000 he worked at Rogalandsforskning, a Norwegian research institute located in Stavanger (established 1973). Since 2000 he has worked at the University of Stavanger.
